The Members Of The St. Petersburg Men's Ensemble

Kirill Sokolov Kirill Sokolov was born in Leningrad on 22 July 1974. He has got his first musical education in the Glinka Choir School attached to the State Academic Capella. From 1991 to 1996 Kirill was studying choir conducting in the St. Petersburg Conservatory in the class of professor E.P. Kudryavtseva. During 1995 he combined studying at the Department of Conducting with studying at the Department of Vocal Singing. Since 1990 Kirill started his creative activity as a member of leading choirs of St. Petersburg: first in the Academic Capella, then in the Choir of the Smolny Cathedral, and the Chamber Choir of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. From 1994 to 1997 he was working in the Chamber Choir, when, in 1996, fragments of the Divine Luturgy of Tchaikovsky were performed under his leading. In 1997 he took part in concerts and performance tours being a member of different musical collectives, such as men choir "Soglasye",the "St. Petersburg Assemblies" chamber choir, the "Otkrovenie" choir, and others. From 2002 to 2003 he was a leader of the "Petersburg-quartet"chamber ensemble. Since 2003 Kirill has been the leader of "The St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble".
Evgeny Vischnevsky Evgeny Vischnevsky was born in Leningrad on 19 February 1978. From 1985 to 1996 he graduated from the the Glinka Choir School attached to the State Academic Capella. From 1996 to 2001 Evgeny was studying choir conducting in the St. Petersburg Conservatory. From 1999 to 2001 he was a singer of the State Academic Capella. In 2002 he took part in concerts and performance tours being a member of different musical collectives. Since2003 he has been working in "The St. Petersburg Menís Ensemble".
Vadim Smantser Vadim Smantser was born in Partizansk on 16 April 1974. In 1986 he graduated from the Music School attached to the Minsk Conservatory. From 1992 to 1997 Vadim was studying choir conducting in the St. Petersburg Conservatory. Since 1992 he was started his creative activity as a member of Choir of the Smolny Cathedral and the Chamber Choir of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. From 1997 he takes part in different musical projects. Now, Vadim was a singer of the St. Dimi try Church and collaborated with "The St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble".
Alexander Gogol Alexander Gogol was born in Leningrad on 25 December 1974. He has got his first musical education in the Glinka Choir School attached to the State Academic Capella. From 1994 to 2000 Alexander was a singer of the State Academic Capella. From 2000 to 2005 he was a permanent member of the "Rozdestvo" ensemble. Being endowed with such outstanding talent and unique voice, since 2000 he takes part in different musical projects of big choirs as well as chamber ensembles of St. Petersburg. Since 2004 he has been working in "The St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble".
Alexander Korbakov Alexander Korbakov was born in 1962 in Kamyshin on the River Volga. In 1980 he traveled to St. Petersburg to study the bayan (Russian accordion) at the conservatoire and he continues to live and work in that city. He plays with the Russian State Concert Orchestra and has received acclaim as a soloist in many European countries. His classical repertoire includes works written for the accordion by Russian composers and other great composers such as Bach and Beethoven. His virtuoso playing, his charisma and his quiet charm make Alexander a performer of major significance in the accordion world.
